STL CAPS Medicine & Healthcare KMOV News 4 Schools Feature

The St. Louis Centers for Advanced Professional Studies (STL CAPS) medicine and healthcare students were recently featured on a local TV station, KMOV News 4 Schools.  The KMOV news crew visited the students while they were at St. Anthony’s Medical Center.  The students were being assessed in the simulation laboratory by their lead mentor at St. Anthony’s, Dawn Wotawa-Bennett, RN, BSN, CEN, EMT-P.  Students from Affton, Mehlville and Oakville high schools shared their experiences so far first semester with the reporter.  One student commented that this has been a once in a lifetime opportunity and in talking with former STL CAPS students currently in college it is clear that this experience will give him an advantage over other students.  Another student remarked about how she has already gotten to participate in a variety of unique learning opportunities such as heart surgery and neurosurgery.
