St. Louis CAPS Invited to Microsoft Ribbon Cutting with Governor Parson

On September 21, 2018 Dr. Travis Bracht, superintendent of the Affton School District, was invited to attend on behalf of St. Louis CAPS the ribbon cutting of the Microsoft Technology Center. The state-of-the-art facility is located within the Cortex Innovation Community in Downtown St. Louis. Prior to the ribbon cutting ceremony Dr. Bracht participated in a roundtable discussion with Missouri Governor Mike Parson.

The focus of the roundtable was workforce development and Dr. Bracht was able to share with Governor Parson how St. Louis CAPS works directly with business and industry partners to develop curriculum prototypes. The Governor echoed how important it is for K-12 education to work closer with business partners to develop curriculum and new programs.

Students in the St. Louis CAPS Global Business and Entrepreneurship course and Technology Solutions & Logistics course work with Microsoft to learn about various software and hardware applications in the workplace. Students have the opportunity to learn directly from Microsoft employees and experience the application of industry leading products and services.
