On September 17, 2016, STL CAPS hosted a hackathon in downtown St. Louis that consisted of 100 students across 4 states and 7 different CAPS programs. STL CAPS partnered with GlobalHack for the all-day competition held at a technology startup incubator (Downtown T-REX) in which teams developed technology-based solutions to a specific situation. Teams worked on solutions for approximately 6 hours and pitched their ideas to a panel of judges. There were approximately 20 teams and prizes were awarded to the top 3 teams. The 7 CAPS programs that participated represented Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. This was the first student engagement event open to the national CAPS Network across 9 states and 22 programs.
