St. Louis CAPS Holds 5th Annual Student Associate Kickoff Day

Since 2015, St. Louis CAPS student associates from across all four courses come together a week prior to the first day of school for an all day kickoff event. During the 2019-20 school year, STL CAPS will serve students from 9 different high school across St. Louis County and Jefferson County. STL CAPS was the first and continues to be the only CAPS program in the St. Louis area open to partnerships with all high schools.

The kickoff event provides the opportunity to fast-forward students into the professional skills necessary for a successful experience. This includes learning how to properly shake hands, interact with guest speakers and business partners, conduct a working lunch, work collaboratively in a diverse team, create a new product with minimal resources, and pitch a new product to a panel of judges. This year’s pitch competition judges were from St. Louis Community College, University of Missouri-St. Louis, Mercy South Hospital, and Kaleo Consulting.
